چکیده

In this work, we describe an implementation of the variational method proposed by Brox et al. in 2004, which yields accurate optical flows with low running times. It has several benefits with respect to the method of Horn and Schunck: it is more robust to the presence of outliers, produces piecewise-smooth flow fields and can cope with constant brightness changes. This method relies on the brightness and gradient constancy assumptions, using the information of the image intensities and the image gradients to find correspondences. It also generalizes the use of continuous L functionals, which help mitigate the effect of outliers and create a Total Variation (TV) regularization. Additionally, it introduces a simple temporal regularization scheme that enforces a continuous temporal coherence of the flow fields. Source Code The source code, the code documentation, and the online demo are accessible at the IPOL web page of this article. In this page an implementation is available for download. This file contains two directories: one for the spatial method and another for the temporal method. The spatial method is suitable for general image sequences, while the temporal method should be used when the flow fields are known to be very continuous.

Computation Optical Flow Using Pipeline Architecture

Accurate estimation of motion from time-varying imagery has been a popular problem in vision studies, This information can be used in segmentation, 3D motion and shape recovery, target tracking, and other problems in scene analysis and interpretation. We have presented a dynamic image model for estimating image motion from image sequences, and have shown how the solution can be obtained from a ...

Integration of Region Tracking and Optical Flow for Image Motion Estimation

Robust motion estimation is obtained by integrating optical flow and region tracking methods into a closedloop architecture. To ensure robust tracking over long intervals in video image sequences, the system has mechanisms to predict and assess tracking performance. Our application is to constrain the estimation of the 3D motion of a camera.

Optical Flow from a Least-Trimmed Squares Based Adaptive Approach

Optical flow estimation can be formulated as two regression stages, derivative estimation and optical flow constraints (OFC) solving. Traditional approaches use LeastSquares at both stages and are sensitive to assumption violations. To improve estimation accuracy especially near motion boundaries, we use a Least Trimmed Squares (LTS) estimator to solve the OFC, obtaining a confidence measure fo...
